Washington Post Columnist Howard Kurtz Is An April Fool

On April 1st The Daily Caller provided readers with an ‘April Fools’ article titled ‘A Big F#%king Deal: Vice President Joe Biden Has A Perfect NCAA Record’.  This was an April Fools joke.  (language warning on The Daily Caller article)

Apparently, Washington Post Columnist Howard Kurtz was April Fooled and made reference to The Daily Caller article in his weekly post, calling it ‘A Slam Dunk of a Scoop’.

Smokin’ Joe
Here’s a slam-dunk of a scoop:

“Vice President Joe Biden’s NCAA basketball bracket is still flawless going into the Final Four, a feat that none of the other 5.5 million participants in this year’s online bracket competitions has even come close to achieving, sources within the White House confirmed late Wednesday to The Daily Caller.

“The odds of accurately predicting the March basketball tournament are so small, statisticians tell us, that even if everyone alive filled out a different bracket, it would be highly unlikely for one to successfully pick the right teams to make the Final Four.”

And that’s, yes, a big blanking deal.

Had Mr. Kurtz bothered to read The Daily Caller article he would have noticed several clues that the article was in fact a spoof.  Lines in the article such as the following should have been a dead giveaway.

Biden first filled out the bracket, which he eventually submitted to NBC Sports’ $50 buy-in online Bracket Challenge game, on a handkerchief during last year’s Beer Summit at the White House

“Joe’s a lot like Eric Massa,” complained White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel, who has spent time in the showers with both men. “I wouldn’t want to be alone in a secret bunker with either one of the bxxtards.”

There were several indications that the article was not real.  I guess when you are looking for any ‘good news’ to print in support of your White House idols you simply take what you can get.

Either Mr. Kurtz is going to make a bid for public office and is offering us his progressive credentials with an example of how he cannot be bothered to read what he proposes as factual, or he is just making the best of a bad situation 🙂

Kurtz will say it was an April Fool’s joke, as well.

Thank you 🙂 Yes, parents can be a great positive influence on young minds. Though we rebell against them a bit as teenagers and young adults, we learn through time they were smarter than we thought 🙂
      Have a great day 🙂
