Immigration To Issue Redesigned Green Card

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today that it has redesigned the Permanent Resident Card – commonly known as the “Green Card” – to incorporate several major new security features.  The Green Card redesign is the latest advance in USCIS’s ongoing efforts to deter immigration fraud.  State-of-the-art technology incorporated into the new card prevents counterfeiting, obstructs tampering, and facilitates quick and accurate authentication.  Beginning today, USCIS will issue all Green Cards in the new, more secure format.

“Redesigning the Green Card is a major achievement for USCIS,” said Director Alejandro Mayorkas.  “The new security technology makes a critical contribution to the integrity of the immigration system.”

The enhanced features will better serve law enforcement, employers, and immigrants, all of whom look to the Green Card as definitive proof of authorization to live and work in the United States.  Among the benefits of the redesign:  Secure optical media will store biometrics for rapid and reliable identification of the card holder.  Holographic images, laser engraved fingerprints, and high-resolution micro-images will make the card nearly impossible to reproduce.  Tighter integration of the card design with personalized elements will make it difficult to alter the card if stolen.  Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) capability will allow Customs and Border Protection officers at ports of entry to read the card from a distance and compare it immediately to file data.  Finally, a preprinted return address will enable the easy return of a lost card to USCIS.

In keeping with the Permanent Resident Card’s nickname, it will now be colored green for easy recognition.  USCIS will replace Green Cards already in circulation as individuals apply for renewal or replacement.

Okay, now for the money question.  Why is The President wasting  taxpayer’s money on a high-tech identification card system, when he, the Socialists Democrats and the lame stream media, believe it is violation of one’s constitutional rights to ask for proof of citizenship in the first place?

The Socialist ACLU issued a press advisory stating their intentions to sue the State of Arizona on the belief that Arizona’s Immigration Law would involve “racial discrimination” because it would empower Arizona police to “demand papers” from anyone suspected of being an illegal alien.

Apparently they did not hear Ms Gabriella speak before the City of Tuscon.

Again, why go with all the high-tech, laser imprinted fingerprints, biometrics, when you honestly believe the card should never see the light of day?  Could it be you believe that it is only a violation of one’s rights to request their proof of citizenship when it is law enforcement, intent on enforcing the law, who is doing the requesting?  That only make sense in Socialist Bizarro World.

The Arizona Immigration Law is based on U. S. Immigration Law.  The only difference is Arizona intends to enforce their law.  That is not a violation of the Constitution anymore than AG Eric Holder is in violation of ‘liberal’ legal ethics for being clueless and ignorant of the law.

Holder needs to keep displaying his ignorance if we are going to be rid of him. Luckily, he seems happy to oblige.

lol.. yes, I often wonder how such people are said to be smart, when they do not research what they talk about. Appearing before Congress unprepared is not smart, making false statements about things you have not read is not smart, refusing to acknowledge terrorism is not smart, I have to say, the man is not smart 🙂 Thanks for the comment.
