Rep Bob Etheredge ‘I Believe In Civil Discourse, Except When I Slap A Student For Asking A Question’

Rep Bob Etheridge (D-ropeAdope) displays his method of civil discourse when approached by a college student that asks ‘do you fully support the Obama’s agenda’.

‘Who a you’ (not are) the Congressman asks several times, not really wanting, or waiting for, an answer, as he is taking swipes at the kids face and camera.  At first taking the student by the hand, he then he grabs the kid by the back of the head and pulls him into him while the kid struggles to get away.

During the discourse Rep Etheridge states several times that he has right to know who the students are.  He does not seems as interested in the student’s response, as he does in intimidation of the students.

Rep Etheridge later released this statement:

“I have seen the video posted on several blogs. I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction (was caught on camera) and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried (to hide outbursts like this, and) to treat people from all viewpoints with respect (except when I am punching out a college student that I suspect may be a Conservative). No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will, (whenever there are cameras around), always work to promote a civil public discourse .”

I promise to make an appointment with the House Physician and see if he cannot increase the dosage of my meds just a bit.

Okay, I may have ad libbed that last sentence, but in reality, one can easily see that the congressman does not ‘always’ treat people with respect.  He did not even know the student’s viewpoint other than what he could determine by the single question asked.  For all he knew at the time he attacked, the student was an avid Obama supporter looking for someone of power with mutual feelings.

Why is ‘anger’ the first response to any question of a government official in regards to their support of President Obama’s radical agenda?  Could it be that they realize they have been duped and that they are on the wrong side of public opinion?  Could it be the knowledge that they are the ones that are going to pay politically for their blind support of a Socialist government takeover that the public does not want?

Time will tell as November elections draw near.  It will be interesting to see just how many of President Obama’s devoted sock puppet elected officials turn against his agenda in a desperate attempt to get re-elected.
